SUN CALENDAR
If you're spending part of the summer at a cottage or near a beach, making these rock fish can keep small hands active. Kids don't need much more than rocks, paint and imagination.

 
SUN CALENDAR  

Materials:

 

Li'l Hands Neon Construction Board
Li'l Hands Fun Craft Scissors
T Pencil
Amspec Scissors
Amspec Bond Paper
Lotus Permanent Marker (Black & Red)
Gold Medal White Glue
puncher
yarn
round fastener

Steps:  

1. Trace patterns onto Li'l Hands Neon Construction Board. Cut out all pieces     following pattern instructions. Punch hole on medium Yellow circle with a     puncher. Punch one tiny hole in center of each circle using Amspec     Scissors.
2. Draw details using T Pencil. Draw outlines around edge of Orange and
    Tangerine sun, Yellow circles, edges of eyes, mouth, "GOOD MORNING
    SUNSHINE" on small Yellow face and one month on each point of Orange
    sun with Black Lotus Permanent marker. Dot freckles and highlight mouth
    with Red Lotus Permanent marker. Attach small Yellow  circle on front of
    small White circle with round fastener. Write "Mon." inside mouth opening.
    Turn face just enough to hide Mon. so that mouth opening is clear. Write
    "Tues." inside mouth opening. Continue same process for Wed. thru Sun.
    Attach large Yellow and White circles together in same manner. Write 1 thru
    31 inside 3/8" opening in same manner as for days of the week.
3. Use Black Lotus Permanent marker to draw the eyes on an Amspec Bond     Paper. Glue eyes in place on face using Gold Medal White Glue .
4. Assemble Calendar- Remove round fastener from large White and
    Yellow circles. Open round fastener on back of face and one at a time add     large Yellow circle, large White circles,  Tangerine then Orange sun shapes.     Turn White circles to set  the day and date. Turn Orange circle to set the     month.
